The 'Ride the Road' tour takes place on June 5, 2011, and is a 25 km on-street, closed-road bicycle ride is not only family fun but highlights the serious issue of the need for designated commuter cycling infrastructure. Calgary Police Services will again provide a rolling closure to give participants the experience of cycling in Amsterdam or Copenhagen. A small registration fee offsets costs and was set based on prices of other sport/recreational events in Calgary and comparable cycling tours in other North American cities.
