Two new changes have been made to the Kronos' coaching team. Sandra has informed the board with her departure as the Coaching and Athlete Development Director. Bart will continue on with his role as the team's Head Coach and taking on the periodization planning for all programs (more details to come).
Sandra was hired as a mentor for the coaching team to provide and identify development opportunities ranging from skill development, mental training, periodization planning, camp, and incorporating the Long-Term development plan into workouts. During her tenure with Kronos, she was also in charge of designing the overall periodization plan for all the programs offered by Kronos. Along with the rest of the coaching team, numerous Kronos' athletes succeed in their triathlon, duathlon, and IM 70.3, World Championship and Ironman Canada goals. The club also saw numerous top age-group finishes under Sandra`s program.
Sandra's in-depth knowledge and experience in triathlon, distance running, competitive cycling, and sport psychology and history of working with development athletes were definite assets for us. She was the key architect behind the construct of our KOS, TOS, and U23 development programs currently offered by Kronos. With the growth in youth and teen participation numbers in triathlon across Alberta, the programs initiated by Sandra will set Kronos in a unique position.
Though Sandra is parting ways with Kronos now, the board, alumnus, and athletes look forward to work with her in different opportunities in the future. We simply wish Sandra the best in her adventures.
