Race Summary for Meech Lake Triathon

Alright, heres the report for meech lake...overall it was a pretty good race. I felt like my swim was really good, better then expected. If you discount the beach run it was 20:15, which is great for me. There was a long uphill run to transition, which coupled with T1 added about 4 minutes to the bike, My actual average speed on the bike was over 36kph, which I think was good for the course. It was a really hilly bike, starting with a 4.5km climb almost immediately out of T1....I past about 20 people on this climb. The rest of the bike course rolled, and I past about 20 more people on the remainder. Two people got past me, but I past both on the run. The run didn't feel that great, but I past more people, and only let 1 by me...who I chased the rest of the run but couldn't catch. Initially I was unhappy with the run time, but I think 18th fastest run is pretty good for me, so I am going to call it a good run. Oh, and it was almost 30 degrees when I finished the run...yikes! The times are...

Swim: 20:36 (65th) 1200m
Bike: 43:36 (25th) 23.5km
Run: 25:29 (18th) 6.5km
Overall: 1:29:40 (31st, 5th in my age group)

All in all it was a good race.

Jason
